Student Saved By CPR Now Offers Training To Restaurants For Free
A high school student in Massachusetts is on a mission to teach lifesaving CPR skills to her community because of what happened to her. When she was 8-years-old, Madeleine Jackman was out to dinner and started choking on steak. “No one in my family knew CPR or the Heimlich. No one could help me. Luckily, there was someone at the restaurant who was a nurse and knew CPR and saved my life.”
So now as a high schooler, she created the Rec Cross Club and a Heart Starters program with the help of donations and fundraisers to offer free training to restaurant employees. She says the more prepared people, the better.
