Bride Opens Wedding Gift From Late Grandmother 28 Years Later

Colleen Keerigan’s grandmother thought ahead to make sure she could be a part of her granddaughter’s wedding someday. She was in the final stretch of her battle with kidney cancer in 1996 when she wrapped Colleen’s wedding gift for “whenever she me Mr. Right.” Twenty-eight years later, Mr. Right turned out to be Tim Piscitelli, and she finally got to open grandma Theresa’s gift. It was a beautiful set of fine china that they are putting to good use.

The newspaper the china was wrapped in was dated May 25, 1996 and is kind of a bonus time capsule. Ads show a dozen eggs for $1 and bleach cost 79 cents!
