NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers Help Renovate The Home For A Special Kid
The Today show was there for the big reveal of a total home renovation gifted to a former foster kid and adoptive mom.
Ronda Burns was diagnosed with leukemia while in the care of foster mom, Joyce, at 6-years-old. By that time, she had been with Joyce for three years. After fostering 156 kids in her life, she knew Ronda wasn’t going anywhere. She officially adopted Ronda and treatment over the last two years has been going well.
Her story touched hearts at the charity, Building Hope For Kids, which renovates homes for kids fighting cancer. The group consists of the Philadelphia Flyers charities, the Flyers’ wives, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and local non-profit Michael’s Way.
