A convenience store clerk saved a woman from a texting scam!
Eric Stewart not only works behind the register at a gas station store in Gallatin, Tennessee, he also has an eagle eye for knowing when customers might be falling for a scam. Lista Clark is one person he helped when she showed up, phone in hand, asking for help in sending money through a bitcoin machine. Eric knew she had to stop her.
He knows when people are on the phone near the Bitcoin machine, that’s a red flag. Clark had gotten what appeared to be legal documents with her information, telling her she was facing bank fraud and conspiracy charges against the government. The scammer told her that her information was used to open 22 checking accounts. The scammer told her she needed to deposit money to avoid being arrested.
