Muscle Car Drivers Rally Behind Bullied Boy
Hundreds of muscle car drivers answered a social media plea from a desperate mom.
Steve Hartman showcases the story of 10-year-old Hunter Blankenship and his rainbow glasses. Hunter is autistic, loves muscle cars and just liked rainbows. But his glasses were the reason behind an older kid bullying him. To the point he now hated his rainbow glasses. This older kid went so far as to say Hunter should kill himself. Absolutely AWFUL.
Hunter took that literally, grabbed a knifeā¦and mom intervened. He wound up spending two weeks in the psychiatric floor at the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham. Mom Meghan wanted to show Hunter there are good people and joy in the world, so she asked on social media for 4 or 5 cars and trucks to show up in her driveway for Hunter to see.
Restaurant owner, Sergio Sanchez, saw the post and put a call out to car clubs who showed up in droves! So many showed up, they shut down the downtown area! Hunter met 1500 new friends that day.
