Dad and Two Kids Rescued After Their Plane Went Missing In Alaska

A dad and his two kids were rescued after their plane went missing in Alaska!

Their single-engine plane went missing in Alaska on Sunday. The 38-year-old pilot and his elementary and middle school-aged kids had set off on a sightseeing trip. A family friend put a post on Facebook when they went missing and it was shared over 400 times. A bunch of other pilots went looking for them, and found them alive the next morning after being stranded for 12 hours.

One of the local pilots said that the call for help was Dale Eicher, who had a background in search and rescues. He had barely started looking when he heard over the radio that someone (Terry Godes) found the plane and the three people walking on the ice. News outlets are calling it the “miracle on ice.”

Alaska State Troopers, the Coast Guard, the National Guard and Good Samaritans all helped in the search.
