Teen Asks For Fashion Advice Online And Gets A Life-Changing Surprise
An 18-year-old girl named Victoria Hoffman asked social media for feedback on her prom dress. She’s been homeschooled and a friend invited her, so the caption on the video said “Someone please tell me this is a good prom dress this is all I can afford.” She works at McDonald’s.. and her video got over 6 million views.

She told the Today Show: “I thought I’d get a couple of opinions — maybe some suggestions on how I could zhuzh it up,” “And then… it went absolutely viral.” The comments ranged from compliments to suggestions for styling her hair, along with offers to buy her accessories and do her makeup.
“Can you dance in it? Do you feel pretty? Then yes lovey. It’s a wonderful prom dress, you look perfect,” one person commented.
Another said: “It’s not the dress, it’s The Queen! That wears it proudly!!” Another comment: “Wear the dress. go to the prom. eat the cake. enjoy your life. I’m 54 and I can’t explain to you how fast time flies. Always be you,”

And people didn’t just give Victoria a vote of confidence, they also sent her money. She says she got enough to cover prom, graduation, another dress for her National Honors Society ceremony and even more to pay for her EMT training. And she’s going to sell crocheted stuffed animals she makes by starting an Etsy store! She said in a follow up video she was so grateful for the highest donations all the way down to just a comment of “you look pretty.”
