The Story Behind A Viral Video Of A Special Baseball Card
Seven years ago, Heather Winfree surprised her husband with life-saving news in the sweetest way customized just for him. It’s making the rounds again because it’s so sweet! Her husband, Steve, had been battling kidney disease for 14 years. He loves baseball cards, so she had him flip through a few of them for her, but she had a custom one slipped in. It was an image of him, with a message about how she just found out that she was a match to give him a kidney.
Since then, they were featured in People magazine, on Harry Connick Jr’s show and wrote a book about their experience called “The Rookie Recipient: Our True Love Story Beyond The Viral Video”.
He’s had some complications along the way including sepsis, kidney rejection and cancer according to an update a few years ago, and are asking for support in the form of buying their book.
