Billie Eilish’s Mother Says Her Kids Are Not Nepo Babies
In a new Women of the Year issue of Glamour, four mothers of big celebrities sat down to talk about bringing up their kids.
Maggie Baird was there to talk about raising Billie Eilish and Finneas. She touched on the idea that some think her children are “nepo babies” because she and her husband were already working in Hollywood before their kids’ careers took off. She put that assumption to bed when she clarified the difference in levels of fame,
My husband and I are working class actors. We eked out a meager living, and it afforded us a lot of time with our kids, which was awesome. But the industry is primarily people like us or even people not even like us who couldn’t even do that. So when all of this happened to our kids, we’d never been on that side of it.
Selena Gomez’s mom, Mandy Teefey, talked about not getting to do regular things with her kids anymore like going on Target runs.
Tina Knowles, mom to Beyoncé, wished people knew that her kids are good people first. She is fiercely protective of Beyoncé, Solange, and bonus daughter Kelly Rowland and their peace.
