The Reason Sabrina Carpenter Tells People Not To Come To Her Shows
Sabrina Carpenter is having a storm of success right now having opened up for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour, putting out the Short N Sweet album with nonstop earworms, scoring a Redken partnership, going on a tour of her own, winning her first VMA, collaborating with Christina Aguilera, and starring in an upcoming Christmas special on Netflix.
Now she’s caught herself on the cover of TIME Magazine as one of their 100 emerging leader shaping the future in TIME100 Next.
So why would Sabrina Carpenter ever tell someone not to come to one of her shows? Some people just aren’t your people. In TIME’s piece, Sabrina mentions the scrutiny she’s under that other popstars have faced before her and how she looks at it:
But you’ll still get the occasional mother that has a strong opinion on how you should be dressing. And to that I just say, don’t come to the show and that’s OK. It’s unfortunate that it’s ever been something to criticize, because truthfully, the scariest thing in the world is getting up on a stage in front of that many people and having to perform as if it’s nothing. If the one thing that helps you do that is the way you feel comfortable dressing, then that’s what you’ve got to do.
