“Red One” Has A Way To Go To Break Even On The $250 Million Budget
With major stars like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chris Evans, plus a $250 million price tag to make…studio executives have high box office expectations. And that’s before the $100 marketing budget! But Red One only made $34.1 million in its opening weekend. That still was number one by far with second place, Venom 3, bringing in $7.3 million in its fourth week. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever claimed the third spot with $5.4 million.
Experts say a movie like Red One shouldn’t have had a budget more than $150 million and there is stiff competition coming through the holidays with Wicked, Gladiator II and Moana 2. Remains to be seen if the investment will pay off.
