Doctor And Cancer Survivor Prepares For 7 Marathons On 7 Continents In 7 Days
A liver and bile duct cancer surgeon in Wisconsin, who beat cancer himself, is gearing up to start the new year by running seven marathons in seven days, on all seven continents. His first one is in Antarctica January 31st. He’s doing it to raise money for cancer research, but also to inspire people.
Dr. T. Clark Gamblin has a team of people helping him prepare from a trainer, dietician and the most important support person, his wife. Not only will they be logging 183 miles in a week running, but it will be 60 hours on a plane. It will literally be like run, get on a plane, run, get on a plane. He’s running to raise money for testicular cancer research as that’s what he beat in 2018. “And testicular cancer is the No. 1 cancer that affects males aged 15 to 45.”
He’s most looking forward to getting to know his fellow runners and forming lifelong friendships…and seeing his family at the finish line in Miami. He’s documenting his marathon journey on Instagram at @tclarkgamblin.
