Army Vet Entertains Delayed Flight With Saxophone Performance
An unexpected way some cranky travelers stuck on a delayed flight found some joy!
Flight 1238, was delayed in Atlanta, Georgia and even worse, the passengers were already ON the plane. They were waiting for a replacement crew, who were stuck in traffic. Double ouch. They had already been waiting for well over an hour, and tensions were started to mount.
But then something magical happened.
A man stood up and started putting together his saxophone. Next thing you know, he’s walking the aisle and playing Christmas Carols, instantly lifting the mood!
One of the passengers said: “I was surprised and delighted,” “People were clapping, singing along, and cheering this man for his playing.” That man playing was Wayne Hoey, and boosting morale for the troops during the Vietnam War was exactly his gig for 20 years in the U.S. Army Band. By the time he got to the chorus, everyone started joining in singing!
