While many celebrities are helping collect donations for displaced homeowners, comedian Jay Leno bought $21,000 of meat to cook for the firefighters and first responders working around the clock trying to contain the wildfires in L.A.

Viral Pizza Girl founder Caroline D’Amore started delivering pizzas to first responders the day the fires started in Los Angeles on Jan. 7, even after she got evacuated from her home due to the Palisades Fire. Despite losing her childhood home, she vows to continue feeding firefighters and those displace by the tragedy.

Now the demand for accountability is rising with efforts to recall Governor Gavin Newsome and Mayor Karen Bass underway for gross mismanagement. Empty fire hydrants and reservoirs, failure to clean out overgrowth in the forests, and cutting $17.6 million from the firefighter budget are major reasons behind the push despite wildfires being a regular occurrence in the state.
