TikTok Back Online In Less Than 24 Hours
The ban on TikTok went into effect on January 19 much to the dismay of 170 million American users, but was back online within less than 24 hours. President Trump delayed the ban for 90 days and vowed to work toward a solution that involved the U.S. owning 50% of the app. He calls it a “joint venture” while he works to find U.S. bidders to help purchase half of the company, run by CEO Shou Zi Chew. At issue is the Chinese-owned parent company that fueled fear of stealing American users’ data and manipulate content.
If you uninstalled TikTok or haven’t yet downloaded the app, it is unavailable for now in the app store.
