Fyre Festival II?
Remember the Fyre Festival debacle?
Let’s fill you in! The original festival was scheduled to take place back in 2017 on the Bahamian island of Great Exuma. The original event was promoted by influencers on Instagram and had a ton of problems from security, food, accommodation, medical services, and artist relations. Eventually the festival was postponed and eventually cancelled.
Then in 2018, Billy McFarland, founder of the Fyre Festival, was sentenced to six years in prison and ordered to forfeit $26 million. Oof.
Well get ready, because Billy spoke exclusively to ‘NBC News’ about the upcoming Fyre Festival II. He assured fans that this time, the event will be safer and better organized. Tickets range from $1,400 to $1.1 million for the Summer festival.
