Figure Skater Breaks Down After Moving Tribute To Parents Lost In American Airlines Crash

That devastating American Airlines regional jet that collided with a U.S. Army helicopter on January 29 took the lives of 67 people, many of whom were a part of the figure skating community.

Two of them were 1994 World Champions Evgenia “Zhenya” Shishkova and Vadim Naumov , whose 23-year-old son Maxim performed a moving tribute in their honor March 2. Maxim Naumov joined other skaters during the “Legacy on Ice” event to pay tribute to the victims of the January tragedy. Following his performance, he ended on his knees and broke down in tears as he got a standing ovation.
