Causes of Death Revealed For Gene Hackman And Wife Betsy Arakawa
Autopsy results are being made public revealing the deaths of 95-year-old actor Gene Hackman and his 65-year-old wife, Betsy Arakawa.
She passed away of a respiratory illness linked to rodents, New Mexico officials said. Mr. Hackman had Alzheimer’s, which contributed to his death from heart disease. Hackman died about a week after his wife, which raised questions about his state of mind.
Hackman was found on the floor of the mudroom in the couple’s home, near his cane, while his wife was found on a bathroom floor. Common medication scattered about that investigators later determined did not play a role in her death. A maintenance worker found them Feb. 26.
