Jessica Simpson Says She Couldn’t “Compete” With Britney And Christina
Jessica Simpson is reflecting on her start in the music business, and why she says she couldn’t “compete” with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
She says, “I was never gonna win because I had someone like Britney (Spears) and Christina (Aguilera) ahead of me, who were selling so many more records.” “I didn’t want to dance, I didn’t want to wear a head mic, but I agreed to do it, because I worked for Sony and I didn’t want to let them down…”
Her other issue of insecurity was singing words someone else wrote, something she’s not doing this time around. She’s writing her own songs and her own path with her reintroduction to music. She moved to Nashville and realized she can make music for herself instead of others.
