Louisville Fire Department Pulled Off Another Rescue Of Semi Driver Dangling From Bridge

The Louisville Fire Department responded within 7 minutes and rescued a driver in 30 minutes after a semi cab dangled from the Kennedy Bridge following a single-vehicle crash.

Authorities said the semi driver lost control for an unknown reason heading southbound on I-65 just as it crossed over the bridge into Kentucky and hit the side, resulting in the cab dangling over the edge. Fire Chief Brian O’Neill gave credit to Louisville Metro Dispatcher and LMPD for blocking traffic and create a safe work environment to pull off the operation.

They rappelled to secure the driver and lift him out, who was in good spirits waving “thank you” to first responders. He was taken to the hospital for precaution but not hurt.
