Diddy’s Trial Begins With Shocking Details
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ family was in court for the first day of his trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. The prosecution didn’t waste time in bringing the video of Combs assaulting then-girlfriend Cassie Venture in 2016 in a hotel hallway.
Ventura will be a centerpiece of the prosecution’s case as it was her lawsuit against him in 2023 that opened the floodgates for the federal investigation. It will also paint him as a violent man that can support claims of coercion when it comes to the acts that took place at his “Freak Off” parties.

Diddy’s lawyer is taking the approach of not shying away from domestic violence claims, but pointing out that is NOT a charge he is facing. Proving coercion and force as opposed to consensual acts will be the key task for the prosecution.
The jury is comprised of eight men and four women whose jobs range from massage therapist to neuroscientist to nursing-home aide.Four of the jurors are white, while the rest are non-white.
