Deadly Tornadoes Rip Through Kentucky
Residents in Kentucky and Missouri faced destruction from deadly tornadoes, with Laurel County Kentucky being hardest hit. The death toll is now 28 across the Midwest after as the storms. Subdivisions in Laurel County and Somerset, Kentucky were leveled.
Samaritan’s Purse is on the ground in Kentucky and Missouri to help with volunteers and equipment to help clean debris, tarp roofs and recover personal items for victims.
The National Weather Service warned of ongoing severe weather conditions and the possibility of more tornadoes in the affected areas.
A Disaster Recovery Center has opened in Jefferson County to offer in-person support to Kentucky survivors who experienced loss as the result of the April severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides. The new Disaster Recovery Center in Jefferson County is located at:
