Blake Lively Drops Two “Emotional Distress” Claims From Her Lawsuit Against Justin Baldoni
Blake Lively asked to drop intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress claims in her lawsuit battle against her “It Ends with Us” co-star, Justin Baldoni. The move comes as Baldoni’s legal team asked for medical records to back up that claim.
Lively asked for the claims to be dropped “without prejudice”, meaning she could bring the claims back after the discovery phase is over. On Monday, Baldoni’s lawyers filed said motion seeking to compel Lively to sign a HIPAA release giving them access therapy notes and other relevant information as proof of her claims. Lively’s team called this a “publicity stunt”, though it’s standard procedure for physical or emotional injury claims. Judge Lewis Liman this morning shut down the possibility of Lively changing her mind and turning over her medical records.
The trial is set to be hear in the courtroom next March.
