Billy McFarland Auctioning Off Fyre Fest Brand On eBay
Billy McFarland STILL can’t seem to catch a break with his beloved Fyre Fest brand. After two failed attempts at actually holding a Fyre Fest event (the first of which landed him in jail) and the collapse of a seven-figure deal to sell it, now his plan is eBay.
McFarland claims he’s had numerous offers for the festival, but opted to put the brand and intellectual rights up for auction with a starting bid of one cent. Bidding has already reached $200,000 (as of last night) with the winner set to acquire the brand’s name, trademarks, social media accounts, marketing assets, and more.
McFarland is touting the brands potential for festivals, merch collaborations, pop-ups, livestreams, and media ventures. The auction also includes artist relationships and the option for a Caribbean festival location.
