Blake Lively Suffers Setback With Smear Campaign Subpoena

Blake Lively’s federal lawsuit against social media guru Jed Wallace, alleging a smear campaign orchestrated by Justin Baldoni, faced a setback as Judge Lewis Liman granted Wallace’s motion to dismiss himself from the case. The ruling was made without prejudice, which means Lively can file an amended complaint by July 31 or pursue legal action in a different jurisdiction.

This throws a big wrench in her case as Wallace is the one actually hired by Baldoni and publicists Melissa Nathan and Jen Abel during the run-up to the 2024 drama “It Ends With Us.” Lively has also targeted other content creators wanting their messages through Google and even bank records trying to prove Baldoni paid them to talk negatively about Lively. They all have adamantly denied that saying all the negative press happened organically as old interviews resurfaced showing her being rude to interviewers.

The backlash started during promotion for the movie where Baldoni focused on the domestic violence storyline, while Lively promoted it as a chance to “grab your girls and wear your florals” to the movies. Her first date to be deposed by Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, has come and gone and the second date was supposed to be July 17th and was delayed again until July 31st.
