Scooter Braun Talks Taylor Regrets And Defends Justin Bieber

Scooter Braun is opening up about his years-long war with Taylor Swift on the ‘Question Everything’ podcast. Scooter’s company bought Big Machine records and acquired the masters to Taylors first six studio albums, he said because he believed in her talent. At the time, Taylor claimed she was denied the opportunity to buy them herself, which launched her quest to re-record all albums.

Looking back, he was shocked at the bad press and death threats he received that even drove him to suicidal thoughts. He regrets they still haven’t to this day sat down and had a conversation, and would still like to.

As for Justin Bieber, he’s rooting for his former client. They parted ways professionally two years ago, and Bieber just agreed to pay Braun $31.5 million for cancelled concerts and unpaid commissions. Braun says he hopes their paths cross again someday. He supports Bieber’s need to be fully in charge of his life and career moving forward. “He’s not done and I’m not done cheering for him.” He also hopes the press and fans leave Bieber alone to navigate his life as a husband and father without the constant lens of judgement.
