Marvel To Recast Several Iconic Roles
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced a “reset” is coming with new actors playing some iconic roles…including Iron Man and Captain America. This will happen after Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.
A new generation of X-Men will also be rolled out. Many actors who have portrayed X-Men characters over the past two decades, such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Rebecca Romijn, will return for roles in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. These changes reflect what is seen in the Marvel comics following the Secret Wars storyline in 2015.
Feige emphasized that this is a “reset” rather than a “reboot,” as they look to establish a singular timeline.
