Matthew McConaughey’s New Film Includes His Son and Mom

Matthew McConaughey shares the screen (in the same scene) with his mom, Kay and son, Levi!

Levi McConaughey asked if he could read for the role of his son in “The Lost Bus”, and his dad sent the audition to the casting director who suggested sending it to the director without his last name. He wanted his son to earn the role on his own merit and performance, and he did! It’s his first role but his mom has had some small roles before.

“The Lost Bus” is based on a true story of school bus drive Kevin McCay who rescued 22 children in 2018 during the wildfire in Paradise, California. The fire ultimately killed 85 and destroyed 19,000 structures, but McCay was able to navigate a path for 30 miles to reunite all kids with their families. The movie streams on Apple TV+ October 3.
