Ed Sheeran Announces “One Shot” Special On Netflix
On Monday (October 6), Ed Sheeran announced a new Netflix special, One Shot With Ed Sheeran, premiering on November 21.
Ed’s had a history of doing pop shows and surprising fans and that’s the basic premise of this. He’ll wander through New York City in real time, performing impromptu songs on subway cars and street corners while interacting with surprised fans…and it’s all one continuous shot.
The guy behind the camera is an award-winning director known for this style of filming and was behind the show Adolescence. In this special, Philip Barantini takes a different approach by capturing unscripted, candid moments as Sheeran brings his music directly to the public.
“From impromptu performances on bustling sidewalks and subway cars, to intimate interactions with fans and passersby,” reads a press release, “Ed Sheeran’s journey through New York will be captured in a series of unforgettable moments, highlighting the pandemonium and excitement that follows.”
