Billie Eilish Almost Scrapped One Of Her Biggest Hits
“Birds of a Feather” is one of Billie Eilish’s biggest hits, but it almost never saw the light of day. If she had her way, it wouldn’t have made it onto her album “Hit Me Hard and Soft”. Billie says, quote, “Multiple times I was like, ‘We should cut this.’ Even when I played the whole album for the label, I was like, ‘Guys, this one is kind of stupid.'”
Obviously, that was the WRONG call. “Birds of a Feather” spent three weeks at #1 on the Billboard Global 200, and was Spotify’s most-streamed song of 2024, with 1.8 billion streams. It currently has more than 3 billion. It’s also the closing song in her live set.
Eilish and her brother Finneas sat down a year ago to talk about crafting the song together.
