Ed Sheeran Foundation Gets A Big Win
Ed Sheeran wants to make sure people are making great music for years to come and it shows. His foundation, the Ed Sheeran Foundation, is geared toward making sure kids in the UK have access to study music and the arts during their school day. He shared on his Instagram that his foundation received a letter from the Prime Minister assuring him that “we will makes sure every child has access to those experiences–from arts and culture to nature and civic engagement–so that creativity isn’t a privilege, but a right.” He writes in his post, “Today is a good day x.”
In his post, he talks about partnership with the Prime Minister Keir Starmer to protect and grow music education and a letter sent back in March 2025. He thanked those who signed and support the letter, which requested about $325.8 million, when compared to the British pound, to “repair decades of dismantling music.” The letter was backed by other big English artists like Elton John, Coldplay, Harry Styles, and Myles Smith.
This win comes after Ed recently visited a 3rd graders in Brooklyn as their “celebrity substitute” and taught them about music and how he uses his loop pedal to create songs.
