Raye’s Future Jazz Club Dreams And Stage Recovery On Jimmy Fallon
Raye appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to chat about meeting Anna Wintour, writing songs with Mark Ronson, and being influenced by Amy Winehouse.
She’s teasing a new album that has yet to be titled and her upcoming tour, This Tour May Contain New Music.
She talks about doing pop music right now — for 10 to 15 years — and then opening up a jazz club. She’s already dreamed up the 200-person capacity, the cocktail, the license to stay open until 5am and everything!
Raye and her band did a seemingly flawless job of “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” live despite some possible technical difficulties. At one point (around 1:10 below) you can see that the singer to the right is adjusting something behind her without missing a thing and when she turns around at 2:37, you see that she has resituated her mic pack at a different place on her dress. Later in the performance at 3:11, Raye herself is fidgeting with her in-ear monitor and later pulls it out or lets it fall around 3:21. The vibes were immaculate and you could tell they prioritize fun choreography.
