Netflix Is Rebooting ‘Star Search’
You may have forgotten about the phenomenon that was Star Search back in the day! But it launched the careers of some big names including Beyoncé, Usher, Kevin James, Justin Timberlake, Dave Chappelle, Adam Sandler, and Britney Spears!
Netflix has tapped Anthony Anderson as host for its Star Search revival launching January 13, 2026. The show will broadcast live on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT with real-time global voting by viewers. The competition will once again feature performers in music, dance, comedy, magic, variety, and junior categories. Ed McMahon hosted the original series from 1983 to 1995. There is no prize money this time, but a contract with Netflix on the line.
