Katniss And Peeta Are Returning In “Hunger Games” Prequel
Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will return as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping. Now since this prequel takes place 24 years before the original Hunger Games story, Katniss and Peeta were alive in this timeline. This is the origin story of Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada), who mentored Katniss and Peeta in earlier movies. Fans expect they’ll appear in flash-forward scenes.
Other stars include Mckenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Maya Hawke, Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin, Glenn Close, and Ralph Fiennes as President Snow. This marks the sixth Hunger Games film adaptation, arriving in theaters November 20, 2026.
