Pat Kelsey’s Quest For Coffee
Louisville head men’s basketball coach, Pat Kelsey is just like us. Coach Kelsey needs his early morning coffee too!
But since there are certain local Starbucks who have had to close temporarily due to the labor dispute, customers have had to find other options. Including Pat Kelsey.
He recently tweeted, “Dear Starbucks on Brownsboro US-42 Holiday Manor, are you closing down or staying open? It’s been a month with no update. Most convenient pre-6am coffee on way in to work. If Heine Bros. near there starts opening at 5 I’m yours. #CoffeeCrisis2025”
Well, Heine Brother’s caught wind and responded posting on Instagram, “Hey Pat! We saw your #CoffeeCrisis2025 call for help! Consider this our official rescue mission: Our Heine Bros Northfield on Brownsborro Road is open bright and early at 5:00 AM Monday-Friday! We’re ready when you are!”
However, when Coach Kelsey made good on his word and stopped by, the barista was wearing a University of Kentucky sweatshirt! The disrespect!! lol
Coach Kelsey responded, via Twitter, posting, “Coffee is [fire] …but before I’m all in we have to have a serious discussion about employee apparel ”
We’re here for this local “drama”!
BTW, if you’re a Starbucks die-hard, and you’re searching for options while the Holiday Manor is closed, the nearby location at 3702 Frankfort Avenue, Louisville, KY 40207 is still open for business.
