Awards Season Starts With The Critics Choice Awards
Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another claimed Best Picture at Sunday’s Critics’ Choice Awards. Anderson also won Best Director and Adapted Screenplay. Jessie Buckley earned Best Actress for Hamnet while Timothée Chalamet took Best Actor for Marty Supreme. During his acceptance speech, he gave a shout out to his “partner of 3-years” (Kylie Jenner) about whom he said he “couldn’t do this without”.
Jacob Elordi won Best Supporting Actor for Frankenstein and Amy Madigan claimed Best Supporting Actress for Weapons. Sinners dominated with multiple wins including Best Young Actor for Miles Caton. TV winners included The Pitt for Best Drama Series with Noah Wyle winning Best Actor in a Drama. The Studio captured Best Comedy Series with Seth Rogen and Ike Barinholtz taking acting honors.
Adolescence earned Best Limited Series, along with several acting wins for stars Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty.
