Movie Featuring Local Actor And Shot In Louisville Opens In Theaters
Louisville native Neil Mulac landed a supporting lead role in a movie filmed here in Louisville hitting theaters this weekend. “Dead Man’s Wire” is based on the true story of Tony Kiritsis, who took a mortgage company employee hostage at gunpoint in Indianapolis in 1977. Mulac plays Agent Patrick Mullaney. The cast has major star-power with Bill Skarsgård, Dacre Montgomery (“Stranger Things”) and Al Pacino. It’s directed by Louisville native, Gus Van Sant (“Good Will Hunting”, “Finding Forrester”).
Many scenes were shot here in Louisville in January 2025, including areas near Louisville Gardens, River City Bank and the lobby of the 500 West Jefferson Street building. Vintage 1970s-style billboards installed for the production can still be seen in parts of the city.
Catch the movie playing at Xscape Jeffersonville, AMC Stonybrook, Cinemark Tinseltown and Xscape Blankenbaker in the area.
