Oscar Nominations Are Announced
Looks like a repeat of many Golden Globe winners will be going for more gold in the form of an Oscar.
Some of the nominees include, Jacob Elordi for “Frankenstein,” Timothee Chalamet for “Marty Supreme”, Teyana Taylor for “One Battle After Another,” Michael B. Jordan for “Sinners” and Jessie Buckley for “Hamnet.” But there were some surprises with Delroy Lindo (“Sinners”) up for Best Supporting Actor for the first time in his 50-year career! Speaking of “Sinners”, that set a new record for the most nominations with 16.
One big snub was “Wicked” being left out completely, including Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Best Actor front-runner is Timothee Chalamet who won the Golden Globe for “Marty Supreme”. He’s up against Leonardo DiCaprio in “One Battle After Another”, Ethan Hawke in “Blue Moon”, Michael B. Jordan in “Sinners” and Wagner Moura in “The Secret Agent”.
The 98th Academy Awards will be handed out March 15th at 7pm on ABC and Hulu with Conan O’Brien as host.
