Sony Executive Calls Blake Lively A “Terrorist” In Unsealed Docs

As the fallout continues from text messages and deposition documents that have been unsealed in the Blake Lively lawsuit against her “It Ends With Us” director and co-star, Justin Baldoni, some harsh testimony from Sony executives is revealed.

Lively is suing Baldoni claiming sexual harassment and blames Baldoni for launching a smear campaign during the promotion of the movie. Lively received backlash for encouraging viewers to “grab your friends and wear your florals” to see the movie, downplaying the movie’s plot involving domestic violence.

She also used the spotlight at the time to launch a haircare brand. Variety reports CEO Tom Rothman said: “She did bring it all on herself by refusing to listen to advice… and by selling her products.” President of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, Sandford Panitch, said “She did it to herself,” saying “the hair sell at the same time was epic level stupid,” referring to Lively’s Blake Brown line. As for banning Baldoni from the “It Ends With Us” red carpet, Panitch said, “If she just let him come to the premiere, or didn’t make all the cast unfollow him or kick him off the movie, and did what everyone ever has done in show business for time and memorial which is protect ‘the show’ then none of the sleuthing would have happened.” Tahra Grant, the Executive VP and Chief Communications Officer at Sony, allegedly wrote in August 2024 that Lively “orchestrated all this drama in a totally unsavvy and amateur way (and basically threatened…Sony) and now is mad it backfired on her.”

Then there was Sony executive Angie Giannetti who branded Lively a “f–king terrorist” as tensions rose on the set during filming “It Ends With Us.” Giannetti confirmed that she made the comment during her September 2025 deposition, which was unsealed on Tuesday referring to the 17-point list of demands Lively gave Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and Sony to sign. Lively threatened to not promote the movie if he refused to sign it.

Text exchanges between Lively and Taylor Swift in real time suggest Swift was way more involved than she has publicly stated, showing Lively’s strategy in taking over the movie. Lively’s messages to Swift, Matt Damon and his wife and Ben Affleck asking them to endorse her version of the script were also exposed. Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, was asked how his client is doing amid these documents being unsealed.
