Ken’s “Kenergy” isn’t slowing down despite marking his 65th birthday! He was introduced as Barbie’s main squeeze by Mattel in 1961 and now we know his full name is Kenneth Sean Carson. Like Barbie—whose name Barbara Millicent Roberts was a nod to Mattel founders Ruth Handler and Eliot Handler’s daughter Barbara Handler—Ken’s name was inspired by their son Kenneth Handler.
And he’s got a new gig lined up as a brand ambassador for Expedia launching 65 adventures around the world.
