Authorities Focus On Pacemaker Signal and Glove Found In Nancy Guthrie Case
Law enforcement officials searching for Savannah Guthrie’s missing 84-year-old mother Nancy have deployed high-tech Bluetooth scanners on helicopters to track her pacemaker signal. The helicopters fly low in grid patterns at slow speeds hoping to detect the medical device. Nancy Guthrie was reported missing February 1st.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told The New York Times that 400 people are assigned to the case, stating “We won’t quit. We’re going to find Nancy.” On Friday, multiple SWAT teams, forensic officers and law enforcement vehicles were spotted in Nancy’s neighborhood. Authorities questioned one man but released him without arrest. DNA was also found on a glove found at the house.
Today show host Savannah has remained absent from the studio and withdrew from 2026 Winter Olympics coverage during the search. But she and her siblings have posted social media messages, most recently saying they “still have hope,” and telling those responsible “it’s never too late to do the right thing.”
