Chappell Roan Insists Her Security Team Didn’t Make An 11-Year-Old Cry
Chappell Roan in speaking out after a story got some traction that her security team was rude to an excited 11-year-old fan, making her cry. Brazilian soccer player Jorginho Frello shared the encounter on Instagram, explaining his 11-year-old stepdaughter was in tears after being confronted by Roan’s security officer after she walked by to make sure it was Roan.
On Saturday, March 21, Frello, who is married to Catherine Harding, took to his Instagram story to talk about the incident that happened when they stayed at the same hotel in São Paulo amid Lollapalooza. He wrote, “During breakfast, the artist walked past their table. My daughter, like any child, recognized her, got excited, and just wanted to make sure it was really her,” he alleged, adding, “And the worst part is she didn’t even approach her. She simply walked past the singer’s table, looked to confirm it was her, smiled, and went back to sit with her mum. She didn’t say anything, didn’t ask for anything.” He went on to claim that a “large security guard” then came up and talked to his daughter and wife in a “extremely aggressive manner,” even threatening to “file a complaint against them with the hotel, while my 11-year-old daughter was sitting there in tears.”
Roan then responded on her Instagram stories saying, she did “not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child.” “I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children, like that is crazy. I’m sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something.”
