Savannah Guthrie Returns To “Today”
Savannah Guthrie made an emotional return to ‘Today’ for the first since her mother Nancy Guthrie was abducted at the end of January. “Good morning, welcome to ‘Today’ on this Monday morning. We are so glad you started your week with us,” she told viewers at the beginning of the April 6 broadcast. “And it is good to be home.”
It’s her first official time back in the anchor chair on the morning show for a live broadcast since her mother’s suspected abduction. Hoda Kotb had been filling in. She didn’t go into the latest in her mother’s ordeal but forged on with business as usual, outside of thanking supporters out in the courtyard.
