Justin Bieber’s YouTube-Filled Coachella Performance Draw Mixed Reactions
Justin Bieber headlined Coachella’s main stage on Saturday night in a 34-song performance that featured very little production, and unconventional elements like playing along with old YouTube videos of himself. The set heavily favored tracks from his 2025 albums Swag and Swag II, but he did bring out some guests including Kid Laroi (to perform their mega hit “Stay”) and Tems, Between songs, Bieber stayed glued to his laptop screen, claiming he was responding to real-time online chat feedback. He delighted fans by playing videos of him singing as a kid and singing along with them. But he also scrolled through memes of him and viral videos including “Deez Nutz” and “Double Rainbow.”
Katy Perry posted a clip on Instagram and said, quote, “Thank God he has premium. I don’t wanna see no ads.” Beliebers seemed to like the personal vibe noting he looked happy, healthier and seemed to show gratitude for being back on stage performing. Others panned it calling it lazy and not worthy of the $10 million paycheck.
