Author Releases Book About Taylor Swift’s ‘Swiftie’ Fanbase
Who better to write a book about the history of ‘Swifties’ than a super-Swiftie?
Olivia Levin writes about being longtime Taylor Swift fan in her new book, “The Story of Us: How the Taylor Swift Fandom Changed Our Lives.” Levin was on the Swiftie train from the beginning, and Taylor noticed by following her on social media when Levin was in high school. That got her an invite to Taylor’s house, with the family around, and she got to get a picture holding some of Taylor’s Grammys!
Calling it “the best day ever”, that’s when she realized Taylor was “just a girl, just a regular person.” The secret sauce to building that rapport with the fans? From the beginning, she says Taylor was always making time for autographs, pictures and hugs after shows. She would send her mom, Andrea, into the crowd to find fans to come backstage all the time. Swift was known to cyberstalk fans, often sending gifts and carepackages to Swifties.
You can grab Levin’s book December 1 of this year.
