Anne Hathaway Was Legally Blind In One Eye For A Decade

Anne Hathaway disclosed she was legally blind in her left eye for a decade due to early onset cataracts!

She talked about it on the New York Times’ Popcast saying, “I was half blind for 10 years—age 30 to 40. I had an early onset cataract and it affected my vision so much that I was basically legally blind out of my left eye.” Hathaway didn’t realize how severely the condition impacted her until she underwent surgery. “I didn’t realize how bad it had gotten until I could finally see the full spectrum,” she said. “I didn’t realize it was actually taxing my nervous system.”

Hathaway, 43, who shares sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6, with husband Adam Shulman, now considers her restored vision miraculous. “Every day I wake up and I get to see the way that I do, it’s a miracle.”
