I-65 Set To Reopen Saturday
The Team Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says they are on schedule to reopen two lanes of traffic in both directions on a five-mile stretch of I-65 by Saturday, August 1st, ending the two-month shutdown.
That doesn’t mean the work is complete! Mindy Peterson, project spokesperson advises, “It is so important for people to realize and keep in mind, I-65 very much remains a construction zone. We are reopening with crews still working.”
The speed limit on I-65 will drop to 40 miles per hour, and crews will continue working alongside passing vehicles.
The work on the three bridges will continue until March 2027.
By the way, the current count at the Louisville Can Opener is: 45.
