Tony nominee Saheem Ali will direct, with choreography by Ebony Williams and music direction by Jason Michael Webb, who previously worked on the Michael Jackson musical MJ. Prince collaborators Morris Hayes and Bobby Z are serving as music advisers. The production will feature over 20 Prince tracks. Bobby Z recalled Prince’s enthusiasm for Broadway, saying, “He lit up on that,” adding the production feels “in the spirit of something creatively in his orbit.”
