I-65 Has Reopened
Christmas came early! I-65 is now OPEN!
So what can you expect? The reopening of I-65 includes the reopening of several ramps, including access from northbound I-65 to the Fair/Expo Center (Exit 131-B), eastbound I-264 access to the Fair/Expo Center Main Gate, and the Bank Street on-ramp to westbound I-264/I-64.
Some ramps are still closed as construction continues along the corridor. A construction speed limit of 40 miles per hour will be in place along I-65 for most of the five-mile corridor. A construction speed limit of 45 miles per hour will be in place along southbound I-65 from past the Hill Street/CSX Railroad/Burnett Avenue bridge through the I-264/I-65 interchange.
With lane restrictions in place on I-65, drivers traveling through Louisville are encouraged to still use the signed detour via I-264 (Georgia Davis Powers Expressway) to the west side to avoid construction delays. Drivers with destinations in Louisville should use mapping apps to find the
best route at their time of travel.
