“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” Shatters Box Office Expectations With Huge Opening
Marvel Studios is loving life right now having four of the largest domestic openings of all time at the box office. Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings in with a $355 million domestic ticket sales in its debut, second only to “Avengers: Endgame” at $357 million. “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in 2021 was third with $260 million, followed by 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War” with $257 million. Oh, and Tom Holland is the ONLY ACTOR in ALL FOUR of those movies!
The international tally of another $573 million brings the global haul to nearly $1 billion on the FIRST WEEKEND. It has already more than paid the studio back the $225 million price tag it cost to make the movie and whatever marketing budget it had. Save to say it will continue to rake in the dough for many more weeks as the movie scored 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and is getting an “A” grade on CinemaScore from people participating in polls as they walk out.
But Tom Holland hinting he might be hanging up the Spidey suit after 10 years and “passing the baton”, saying in a recent interview “there has been a plan all along” and that’s its “very exciting”.
